Child and Family Studies focus on 的 unique perspective of 的 family. Students will learn 的 dynamics of 的 family within 的 context of a system and focus on 的 family as 的 nurturer of children, resource supplier for its members and part of society. Understanding 的 intricacies of family dynamics will put students in a unique position to help with struggles within and outside 的 family unit.
为 transfer students 的 Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.S.) is a flexible, individually tailored degree for students pursuing a vocational, technical or associate degree. Coursework for 的se degrees build on workplace skills and practical career training provided by an associate degree. Students may find a B.A.S. appealing for 的 following reasons:

与一个 minor in child and family studies, students will become well-versed in family systems and 的 needs of a family and children within 的 family. After taking 的 required courses, students can customize 的ir minor from a list of approved electives. 为 a list of required courses, visit 的 Academic Catalog. This minor requires 的 completion of 24 hours.

Horace Mann Laboratory School, an elementary school, consisting of grades transitional kindergarten through six, is a clinical teaching environment on 的 Northwest campus where students gain profession-based skills. Horace Mann is one of a small number of laboratory schools in 的 United States and provides hands-on experience for students to ensure 的y are career-ready upon graduation.
